Adult Forum-Narcan Presentation

Updated: Feb 14, 2023

St. Martin’s parishioner Sandra Mayen will give a presentation and lead a discussion about Narcan at Sunday’s Adult Forum. Narcan is the brand name for naloxone, an FDA-approved prescription medicine that can block the effects of opioids, and reverse an overdose.

The presentation will address the following frequently asked questions:

  • What is an overdose?

  • How do we recognize someone who is overdosing?

  • What makes someone at risk of an overdose? How do we recognize someone at risk?

  • What is Narcan, why is it important, who should carry it,

  • How does Narcan reverse an overdose?

  • How long does it take for the reversal to take effect?

  • Are there ways to prevent an overdose from happening?

Please join us in Park Hall at 9am for this important discussion about a topic that is affecting our community and the communities around us.
