This Sunday we will read in Malachi 4: See, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble…But for you who revere my name the sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its wings. Our Psalm 98 brings the familiar words: Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things . With his right hand and his holy arm has he won for himself the victory. As we near the end of the church year, we prepare for the coronati

This Sunday we will celebrate the feast day of our church’s patron saint, St. Martin of Tours. There are many stories about St. Martin that revolve around the idea of Servitude. This Sunday we will celebrate the Feast of All Saints Day when we remember the lives of our members and friends who have passed away, and ponder our own lives and how they fit into God’s kingdom. Our Processional hymn, Give thanks for life , exemplifies this with stanza 3: for our own, our living and our dead, thanks for the love by which our life is fed, a love not changed by time or death or dread, Alleluia. It was written by Shirley Erena Murray and sung to Vaughan Willia

This Sunday we will read in 2nd Timothy 4: The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and save me for his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen. Our Processional hymn will be O God, our help in ages past. This text was written by Isaac Watts in 1714, shortly before the death of Queen Anne of England. This Sunday we will read Luke 18 when Jesus tells his disciples “to pray always and not to lose heart.” And in 2nd Timothy we read, “always be sober, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, carry out your ministry fully.” Our music will reflect these directives. We will have a guest pianist to sub for me, Cathy Smith, who graciously prepares beautiful piano music for our worship.
