St. Martin’s Hosts ECW Distinguished Woman Luncheon

On Saturday, April 23, St. Martin’s hosted the Diocese of Missouri Episcopal Church Women’s luncheon to honor women around the diocese who demonstrate exceptional service both in their secular lives and in their involvement with their parishes and the wider Church. Bishop Deon Johnson and guests from around the diocese were present for a wonderful afternoon of fellowship and a delicious Moroccan meal catered by Welcome Neighbor STL.

Nominees for this triennium’s Distinguished Woman recognition were:

Angela Breeher (St. Paul's, Carondelet),

Victoria Brown (Christ Church, Rolla),

Deborah Baker Dukes (All Saints & Ascension, Northwoods),

Doris Love (Calvary, Louisiana),

the late Phyllis Powers (Advent, Crestwood), and

Marti Robards (St. Mark's St. Louis).

Angela Breeher was selected as the honoree for this term. All of these women demonstrated amazing service to their parishes and to their communities.

We are so thankful to Bishop Johnson for his beautiful opening prayer, and to co-hosts Jeanne King and Sharon Meusch. We also are grateful to our own Kay Fletcher, Loretta Go, and Jeanne King, all of whom serve on the diocesan ECW board.

Thanks also to Lincoln Drake, Michael Kelly, Scott Pattengill, and Jim McLaughlin for their generous help in set ting up Park Hall for the luncheon, and also for serving our wonderful meal from Welcome Neighbor STL.

If you are a woman in the diocese, you are invited to get involved with Episcopal Church Women, one of the oldest service organizations in the Episcopal Church. Please see this page on the Diocese of Missouri’s website for more information, or speak to Kay or Jeanne about how you can get involved!
