Margery Moss was born on September 28, 1935 in Poplar Bluff Missouri to Earl and Mabel Moss. She passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, after a brief illness. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, William H. Tyler of Chesterfield, Missouri, son and Daniel Moss Tyler of Leawood, Kansas and daughter-in-law Jill Moran Tyler, grandchildren James, Dannan, Clover and Owen Tyler and her miniature Schnauzer, Sweet Willy. Her son William J. Tyler preceded her in death.
Margie attended William Woods College and graduated with a B.S. in Education from the University of Missouri, Columbia, where she was a member of Delta Gamma Fraternity. She worked as secretary to the Business Manager of the University while her husband finished studies for his degrees. They then moved to Kirkwood, Missouri when Bill started his advertising career in St. Louis.
In addition to being a loving parent very active in her sons' educations, Margie served as a member of the Volunteer Service Council, the Ruth Kelso Renfrow Art Club and on the board of the Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments.
When her husband joined the faculty at Saint Louis University, she became a member of the University Library Association, and as president of the St. Louis Area Delta Gamma Alumnae, was instrumental in helping establish a student chapter at the University.
In 1977, the Tyler family moved to Santa Barbara, California and Margie became active in Peanut Gallery, a children's theater production company. Both children later would be involved in the movie and television industry. When the family moved back to Town & County, Missouri in 1982, Margie was a supportive parent for the Parkway West Marching Band, which won national championships at the Citrus and Fiesta Bowls.
Margie also was an officer of Assistance League of St. Louis, a member of P.E.O. and an actively contributing member and officer in the Wednesday Club of St. Louis.
Memorial donations for Margery may be made to the Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments.
