Adult Formation: Religious Orders in the Diocese of Missouri

Br. Sam Kincade is a friar in the Order of St Francis. He will offer a presentation on religious orders in the Episcopal Church this Sunday, October 2 at the Adult Forum.

The Order of St Francis is headquartered in Seattle, Washington. Br Sam entered the Order in 2017 and took his Professed Vows in 2020. He holds an MA in History from Southeast University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and is currently pursuing an MA in Theology and Christian Ministry at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio.

Br. Sam became a member of Christ Church Cathedral in 2016 and serves on the Altar Team as an Acolyte and a Eucharistic Minister. He is part of Miss Carol’s Saturday Morning Breakfast team and the Winter Outreach Team. He was part of the Strategic Planning Downtown Neighbors Team for Christ Church Cathedral.

Br. Sam was part of a Mission Trip to Puerto Rico in August 2018 which focused on helping those effected by hurricane Maris. He was appointed by Bishop Deon Johnson to the Companion Diocese Committee in 2021 and will be part of a trip to Puerto Rico in December of this year.

Please join us this Sunday at 9am in Park Hall for an interesting discussion about one of the best kept secrets in the Episcopal Church. Then, return on Sunday October 9 for the second part of Br. Sam’s presentation as we learn about the companion relationship between the Diocese of Missouri and the Diocese of Puerto Rico.
