Chocolate for Lent
By Janis Greenbaum; posted on February 23rd, 2010
You are invited to indulge in faith, fellowship and chocolate this Lenten season!
Our Wednesday evening Lenten series begins Feb. 24 and runs through March 24. Our program is based on the Oscar-nominated movie “Chocolat” starring Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche, a fun film with a lot of Christian messages to discover.
We’ll begin each Wednesday evening in Park Hall at 6:30 with a potluck supper. At 7 p.m., we’ll discuss various Christian themes using clips from the movie. Of course, chocolate will also be involved!
Come for one evening… or all five. All ages are welcome. Child care available in the youth room during the PG-13 portions of the program. Please register with Janis Greenbaum in the church office if you need child care.
We’ll watch “Chocolat” in its entirety our first evening together (Feb. 24), so plan to stay until about 9 p.m. After that, we’ll show clips of the movie in our groups and will end our evenings at 8:30.
See you there!
