The Lambeth Commission on Communion – a 17-member international panel appointed in 2003 by the Archbishop of Canterbury to explore the nature of interrelationships, or “communion” among the world’s 77 million Anglicans and their 38 autonomous provinces spanning 164 nations – has issued the final report of its work.

Official reception of the report is a months-long process that will continue beyond October 18 with the February 2005 meeting of the Primates of the Anglican Communion, as well as the June 2005 meeting of the Anglican Consultative Council.

The text of the report is available at here. Our Presiding Bishop, the Most Rev. Frank T. Griwsold III, will be present in London in his capacity as an elected member of the Joint Standing Committee of the Primates of the Anglican Communion and has issued a statement regarding the report of the Lambeth Commission, which can be found at www.episcopalchurch.org.
