The Rev. Susan K. Crawford, Interim Rector
The Rev. Susan K. Crawford comes to St. Martin’s from the Diocese of West Tennessee, and is a trained transitional specialist.She most recently completed a two-year interim at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Jackson, TN. Prior to that interim, she served 12 years at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Germantown, TN (Memphis).

Born and raised in Southeast Missouri, Rev. Crawford received a master of divinity degree in 1989 from The School of Theology of The University of the South, Sewanee, TN. Her bachelor’s degree was awarded in 1970 by Evangel College in Springfield, MO.

Before ordination to the priesthood, she had a 15-year career in public relations and advertising, resigning her position in 1986 as manager of the Corporate Communications Division at First Tennessee National Corp. to attend seminary.

St. Martin’s is the fourth parish Rev. Crawford has served in her 18 years of ordained ministry. She has been involved in many West Tennessee diocesan events and activities most recently serving as president of the Standing Committee. In addition, she has served as a facilitator for the Fresh Start program and headed a Clergy/Clergy Families Committee to recommend programs and policies for clergy wellness. She has also staffed renewal events such as Cursillo and Happening, as well as the Kairos women’s prison ministry.

The Rev. Susan C. Skinner, Interim Associate Rector
The Rev. Susie Skinner serves St. Martin’s as Interim Associate Rector on a part-time basis during the interim between rectors.

Susie was ordained deacon in 1980 and priest in 1981. She has served as Associate Rector and Rector of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Webster Groves, Mo. until 2001, and Priest in Charge at a small parish in West Point, VA. Upon returning to St. Louis, she served as the Executive Director of Episcopal City Mission from 2002-2006. Prior to her retirement in December 2006, she served as Interim Rector of St. Matthew’s in Warson Woods, Mo. Two months later, she accepted the part-time position at St. Martin’s.

Janis Greenbaum, Interim Christian Formation Director
Janis Greenbaum The Christian Education Director is responsible for the adult, youth, and children’s Christian Education in the parish, which includes the Sunday School, Children’s Worship, the Nursery, and the three youth groups. As part of the Christian Education programs, the CE Director coordinates special events such as the Advent Event, Christmas Pageant, and Missionary Sunday and chairs the Christian Education Committee. The CE Director also coordinates the Senior High Mission Trip.

Matthew I. Anderson, Interim Organist / Director of Music
Matt comes to us from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Holden, Massachusetts, where he served as music director for four years. He received his master’s in music with a major in choral conducting from Boston University and is a magna cum laude graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. At Concordia, he majored in music and minored in religion. He has also done handbell study at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey.

Janet M. Theiss, Parish Administrator
The Parish Administrator serves as an Administrative Assistant to the Rector. Included in Janet’s responsibilities are: all tax filing and payment of bills, maintains financial records for the Treasurer and (with volunteer assistance) counts and deposits all contributions to the Parish. Additionally she schedules all use of facilities, maintains the Church data base and the master St. Martin’s calendar, prepares the Sunday bulletin and provides administrative support for the Staff.

Ruby S. Downs, Staff Associate
The Staff Associate works two days a week assisting the Parish Administrator with office tasks such as answering the phone, maintaining the membership records, preparing Sunday announcements, updating the church website, and assisting other staff as time allows.

The Sexton cleans and maintains the buildings of the parish and sets up for the various worship services and meetings.
