Bulletin 7/6/08: Dokolo to preach, Men’s Ensemble, Mission Trip

Items in this issue include information about The Rev. Stephen Dokolo being the guest preacher on July 13, Men’s Ensemble rehearsing on July 7, and the Senior High Mission Trip leaving on Saturday. Also volunteers are needed to paint the Sunday School rooms, donate to the Ulster Project Dinner, and teach Sunday School. Register for Vacation Bible School ends July 13. Book Club meeting on July 8, the Back to School Supplies Drive through Aug. 6, and saving the date of Sept. 14 for Gospel Sunday and Dinner on the grounds round out the bulletin. Paint Crew Needed

Our undercroft area is in serious need of a facelift before school begins this fall!

We need a crew of workers to help fill holes and put a fresh coat of paint on all the Sunday School rooms.

Our first work day will be Saturday, July 12 beginning at 8:30 a.m. (bagels provided). Please contact Tom Warrington or Janis Greenbaum if you can help out. Thank you!

High School Youth Group Travels on Mission Trip

St. Martin’s High School Youth Group is getting ready to hit the road for a week of hard work and good will.

Youth Group leaders Tim and Emily Ware are traveling with seven students from St. Louis, Missouri to St. Louis, Michigan to be part of a challenge work camp July 12 - 19.

St. Louis, Michigan is an impoverished area in the middle of that state. Many residents don’t have the money or resources to do much-needed home improvements. The work campers will be repairing roofs, building handicap ramps and taking on other projects to help the people living in the area.

The group will be staying at Grace Episcopal Church in Holland, Michigan, where they’ll enjoy a BBQ with the local youth group July 12 and attend church services July 13.

Students taking part in St. Martin’s Mission Trip are: Kyle Bailey, Karen DeRigne, Breanne Fencl, Gina Garbo, Nick Jentsch, Courtney Pott and Ben Warren.

Lunch Bunch enjoyed trip to Missouri History Museum

Seventeen members of the Lunch Bunch/Retirees Group enjoyed the Grant and Lee exhibit at the Missouri History Museum on June 19. Following the exhibit, the group had lunch at Meriwether’s. An enjoyable time was had by all!
